It was Saturday night of September 15, 2007. I was at the Waterford Speedbowl with my race car. I told them when I signed in that I did not want to put a pastor in my car
because of a shifting problem. At first they said ok to the reason but then they decided against that. I also did not want someone to drive the car because the preacher that drove it a couple years ago did not listen to us and almost turned it to junk. We work hard on our cars all through the year and we did not want to be forced to fix it after a wreck because someone would not listen. During practice the car did not handle very well. It was a job to hang on to it. The after noon was not very good because we did not get the time we needed to fix the handling problem because they needed the cars to great the pastors and get them comfortable to the cars and let them have a practice session. The first pastor came to me to try out the seat but he was too tall. The second one came over and it was Rev. Bill Hinkley from Shield of Faith Ministries We started talking and hit it off good. I felt good about letting him drive the car during the race. I gave him some instructions and he followed them during the practice and the race. We did get the car to handle better than the practice but it was not as good as it could have been. Rev. Bill Hinkley did a great job driving the car and I gave him the opportunity to drive it more during the 2008 season.
Below are some photos before the race. |
