I am Arthur Phillips the founder of Phillips Race Team. I enjoy auto racing, own a race car, and I like to watch racing and be a part of a pit crew on occasion during Saturday nights at the Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, Connecticut. USA. Racing has been part of my life since I was born. My father raced his own car until the middle of the 1980s. Funding stopped the racing. The racing schedule usually does not interfere with the church times and so I was able to do both things. There is only a couple out the year that I don't go to the races because I am in church. The people at the track know that I am involved in church.

In the News

September 21, 2009

During The 2009 Wednesday season there was many things that took place in the races that I have been part of. The season started on a good note but then turned to be very hard to finish a race. for a 6 race stretch the car kept shutting off on the track. Everything on the car was looked at. The problem was caused by a faulty ignition switch that cost $3.00 to replace. I have learned that the inexpensive things are usually the problem.

After the problems were fixed, the car was running good. During the month of July, I was in a couple of wrecks that resulted during races that were very ugly to be in. The car got bent in not a good way and the front clip was changed and then the struggles with the handling of the car was not good. With a little work the car was getting better but not where it should be. One more race on the 2009 schedule then it will be time for winter work to begin.

November 9, 2008

The 2008 Season thus far has been enjoyable. The car is a little fussy in the set up that it likes and it is also bent from the second race during the 2007 season. We have has some fun racing, the car was not always easy to drive. We have made some friends during this season that has made for great racing. We don't have any problems getting along with anyone on or off the race track. God gets the Glory on all the blessings and bringing us through the tough times.

We are in the middle of the winter January, 2008 and things are quiet. There has not been much work on the race car due to the weather, lack of funds and a very disorganized work area. As a result we are taking time out of everything and getting the place ready for the season of 2008.

There are many friends that that help us from other teams and divisions. In return we help them as well and I have made friends during my times at the track. Just before the last race of 2007 we were getting in our cars and lining up for the race, everyone that I was parked next to in the pits gave me thumbs up as a sign of sportsmanship wishing a good race for me. I also wished them a good race as well. I would like to thank all the friends for being a great help to everyone involved.

A brief History

Back in the year of 2000 my father (Vic Phillips) and I were able to get a mustang and turned it in to an x- car that was part of the Wild and Wacky Program on Wednesday nights at the Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, Connecticut. USA

My father is Vic Phillips was the primary driver on Wednesday nights until some health things came up. During first couple of  weeks during the 2007 season, he was not feeling good when he came off the track, he told me to drive the car in his place. I ended up racing for the 2007 season since the third week. He told me to put my name as driver above the door on the race car because he has to retire from driving race cars during a race. My race car races on Wednesday nights during the Wild and Wacky Program.
